Okay- I piqued my own interest with the "female mosaic" comment.
I don't think that term is really accurate. In fact, when I googled it, it came up with a lot of wierd bug sex studies!
The exchange of cells between mother and baby is actually a phenomenon termed microchimerism.
Look it up, it's interesting!
Did you call your mother yet?

Here's to blogging
Ok -I started this blog just to be able to post on my son's blog...Isn't that a typical mothers response?
Sometimes I think we'd put on backpacks and pigtails and try to follow them into the kindergarten class just to keep them within view. They are so entrenched our hearts we feel the separation physically.
I've read that females are "Mosaics" and that we actually retain cells from our progeny. I think it explains "mother's intuition" and "apron strings", and our tendancy to hover...
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. LOL
Call your mother- if she can't see you, she is missing you.
